Iku surface-mounted ceiling luminaires provide differentiated architectural lighting even where there is no space for recessed ceiling installation: For example, for solid ceiling constructions or when upgrading existing buildings. Surface mounting is quick, safe and economical. With their precise, neutral shape, the cylindrical housings fit into any interior. Iku surface-mounted luminaires combine high efficiency with exemplary visual comfort and are designed for a service life of at least 20 years. The downlights harmonise perfectly with the other luminaires in the extensive Iku family: for lighting concepts that consistently combine interior and exterior. With Tunable White as an option, they also allow for HCL designs that take all “three A’s” – activity, atmosphere, and architecture – equally into account.
Iku downlights are the perfect lighting tools for those who view Human Centric Lighting as more than just tunable white. Iku combines ERCO's philosophy of perception-oriented lighting with exceptional efficiency. Features such as visual comfort, dimmability and, yes, tunable white make Iku the ideal choice.
Iku surface-mounted luminaires are particularly suited for rooms with solid ceilings and are also an excellent choice for simple modernisation projects.
Iku luminaires are developed, tested and built for long-term operation over 75,000 hours. As a requirement, our ECO design standard specifies a minimum service life of 20 years for all newly developed luminaires.

Wide beam, rotationally symmetrical light distribution for general lighting.
Light source
9.7 W - 37.1 W
1706 lm - 7740 lm
Wide flood
Extra wide flood
For uniform general lighting with high visual comfort, the luminaire spacing (d) between two Iku downlights may be up to 1.5 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane (rough guide).
Arrangement: d = 1.5 x h
The wall offset should be half the luminaire spacing.
Arrangement: a = d / 2
Wide axially symmetrical light distribution for general lighting.
Light source
4.8 W - 16.6 W
898 lm - 3528 lm
Oval wide flood
For high uniformity, the distance (d) between Iku downlights with oval wide flood light distribution may be up to 1.5 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane.
Arrangement: d ≤ 1.5 x h
Axially symmetrical light distribution for linear lighting.
Light source
10 W - 37.1 W
1706 lm - 7740 lm
Oval flood
For linear arrangements and uniform lighting, the luminaire spacing (d) between two Iku downlights may be up to 1.5 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane (rough guide).
Arrangement: d = 1.5 x h

Iku is our luminaire with AAA, and therefore represents what Human Centric Lighting fundamentally means to us. AAA stands for architecture, activity and atmosphere. For better space utilisation in architecture, Iku offers light distributions tailored to all functional areas. Iku supports interpersonal activities such as communication or focused work with good lighting. Iku ensures the right atmosphere with suitable lighting at any time of day. For us, this is true Human Centric Lighting.
Zoned lighting is a smart alternative to the conventional grid arrangement of luminaires. By adapting the lighting concept to specific areas and their requirements, this strategy cuts both energy consumption and initial investment costs. This is made possible by the use of downlights with special light distribution: Oval distribution, for example, is highly effective for illuminating traffic routes with wide luminaire spacing. Illuminating only the essential areas reduces the number of luminaires required and lowers both energy consumption and the initial investment.
For dynamic concepts such as Human Centric Lighting, tunable white from 2700K to 6500K for downlights enables the light colour to be adjusted to daylight and coordinated with outdoor lighting schemes.
