ERCO Lighting, in collaboration with the renowned architect Scott Brownrigg, undertook an innovative project for Solent University. This dynamic partnership brought together ERCO's expertise in lighting solutions with Scott Brownrigg's visionary architectural design, resulting in an exceptional and seamlessly integrated lighting environment for Solent University. The project showcased a successful fusion of cutting-edge lighting technology and visionary architectural aesthetics.
This high-performance building is designed with a focus on sustainability, aiming to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. The University's commitment to carbon reduction extends beyond new constructions, with substantial investments in refurbishing existing buildings. The approach involves implementing energy-saving technologies, such as occupancy sensors for automated switching-off of heating, cooling, and lighting, as well as incorporating variable speed drives and LED retrofits for improved efficiency. The multi-faceted strategy also engages students and staff at all levels, reflecting the university's dedication to cost-effective, energy-saving, and carbon reduction measures.
Using ERCO luminaires such as Optec and Parscan, the vision was realised and brought to life with LED technlogy. The solution offers low maintenance, energy reduction and overall a more cost effective soluton for the University.
The result, is a transformative project aligning with the University's strategy, vision, and brand. Marked by its accessibility and BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, the project emphasises Solent's dedication to equality and access, The building boasts the sector's largest proportion of agile spaces.
