Use sensors in exhibition spaces to save energy and protect exhibits

Dim light or even switch it off when it is not needed. This is the task performed by ERCO Casambi motion detectors with light sensor. They control the lighting, e.g. in exhibition spaces, depending on movement in the room. Compared to continuously activated conventional lighting, energy savings of 20 % or more are achieved according to visitor frequency. Because motion detectors reduce the lighting time to the minimum required, sensitive exhibits in exhibitions are protected in the long term.

Future-proof thanks to wireless control

With Casambi Bluetooth, ERCO is focusing on wireless control methods. The effort for cabling and thus the complexity of planning are significantly reduced. For a wireless lighting control system that is comparable to a DALI control system in terms of functionality, a 3-core connection cable is sufficient instead of a 5-core cable. This corresponds to material and cost savings of about 40%.

Sensors

Motion detector with light sensor: program light scenes depending on movements in the room or the brightness for mains voltage.
Motion detector with 48V light sensor: program light scenes depending on movements in the room or the brightness for your low voltage system.

Gateways and bridges

DALI Casambi Gateway: enables DALI systems to be connected to luminaires, sensors and control units with Casambi Bluetooth.
0-10V Casambi Bridge: enables 0-10V systems to be connected to luminaires, sensors and control units with Casambi Bluetooth.

In addition, third-party suppliers offer many other interfaces and accessories for your Casambi Bluetooth lighting.

Individually switch and dim luminaires indoors and outdoors, set up light scenes and integrate sensors – all made possible by the ERCO wireless control method in the form of Casambi Bluetooth-enabled luminaires and sensors. Only a smartphone or tablet with the Casambi app are needed for setup and operation. A wide scope for design is intuitively made available, and with minimum effort – in the past this required complex light control systems.

Simple operation

The Casambi app with an ERCO-design user interface enables luminaires to be switched and dimmed via radio technology. Even the programming of light scenes is simple via the tablet or smartphone.

Control with the gallery function

The gallery function enables individual luminaires or luminaire groups to be controlled via a self-photographed image of the room. This transforms the photo into a user interface.

Scalability with Site

With Bluetooth technology, you can manage larger installations. The feature allows you to control multiple networks simultaneously, create site-wide scenes and site-wide timers.

Secure cloud technology

Network settings are saved and synchronized across all devices. This enables high flexibility and security – even if mobile devices change. Using a gateway, you can also control your light via the internet.

Integrate sensors and push-buttons

Simply integrate Bluetooth-capable ERCO motion detectors with light sensor for 48V as well as wall switches and push-buttons from third-party suppliers without additional wiring effort.

A robust mesh network

ERCO Luminaires form a mesh network in conjunction with operating units and function as both transmitter and receiver. This makes Casambi Bluetooth fail-safe, even in winding or angled rooms.

How to save energy with ERCO motion detectors with light sensor

Use the resource of light in a targeted and sustainable way. The ERCO sensor, optionally for high voltage or low voltage track, controls your lighting depending on both movement in the room and the amount of daylight. In offices for example, sensors enable you to regulate the brightness over the course of the day, or in exhibition spaces to automatically dim the light when no visitors are present.

Less material used with Casambi Bluetooth

The Casambi app for smartphones and tablets enables luminaires to be intuitively switched and dimmed in degrees, individually or in groups. No additional hardware components or wiring are required, so the material costs and complexity are lower than with conventional control methods.

How to find the Casambi Bluetooth accessories

The Casambi Bluetooth wireless control method means you stay flexible. Numerous gateways form the interface to other control types and allow uncomplicated integration into your existing lighting control system such as 0-10V. All accessories are listed on the data sheet of each Bluetooth-enabled luminaire at erco.com.

Simple integration

ERCO offers three options for Bluetooth-enabled luminaires; as Add-on control unit, integrated into the fixture or as an accessory, which would allow for updating new or pre-existing fixtures with a module.

Add-on control unit

By changing the add-on control unit on Eclipse, a switchable luminaire can be upgraded into a Bluetooth-capable luminaire if new requirements are placed on the lighting concept.

Integrated

Optec and Lightboard have a Bluetooth chip integrated directly into the — fixture.

Module

With the option of separate Casambi modules as accessories, this allows for any luminaire to be operated by Bluetooth.
