New lighting for one of Europe's leading independent music companies: EDEL Music, headquartered directly on the Elbe, specialises in books and home entertainment, from marketing and digital and physical distribution to the production of records, CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays as well as books.
As part of a comprehensive refurbishment of the lighting, new ERCO luminaires were installed in the auditorium and along the entire façade.
The new Quinta recessed spotlights were installed in the auditorium, the large conference and multifunctional room. The luminaires, which have a connected load of 22W LED, replace the original ERCO Lightcast double-focus downlights (fitted with 150W QT32). The number of luminaires - 36 - has remained the same. The connected load has been reduced by more than 80%, resulting in significantly lower energy consumption and making building utilisation more sustainable. In addition, the new lighting with Quinta also offers visual comfort at the highest level. With the recessed spotlights, the ceiling-integrated general lighting in the auditorium can be realised elegantly and consistently.
The square Compar surface-mounted luminaires, arranged in the weather-protected inner zone of the glass façade, create additional vertical lighting accents. These allow the closed façade sections to radiate atmospheric light from the inside to the outside. Here, too, the existing lighting concept from the original planning was to be adopted 1:1. After extensive lighting tests on site and modifications to the Compar standard luminaires, a result was achieved that met the highest demands of all those involved in the project. Significant energy savings were also achieved in the façade area - more than
more than 50% with a total of 37 luminaires.
The new luminaires create a reduced, minimalist ceiling appearance in both the auditorium and the façade - ‘light not luminaires’.
