New lighting for the gymnasium of Neustadt am Rübenberge secondary school: ERCO track luminaires and downlights are used to illuminate the grandstand, the sports halls and the corridors. In outdoor areas, wallwashing with in-ground luminaires highlights colourful graffiti art.
The square cubature of the monolithic basic structure is broken up by targeted incisions and orientated in the context of its surroundings. These incisions open up the building and are in contrast to the metallic, almost abstract outer shell with lively and colourful motifs, according to Mathias Madaus, partner at BECK I MADAUS Architekten. Wallwashing with Tesis in-ground luminaires ensures uniform illumination of the façade.
There is no doubt that light plays a central role in the structural realisation of these conceptual ideas. In close collaboration with ERCO, the architectural idea of BECK I MADAUS and the mural by INNERFIELDS, jointly developed with the students, were effectively illuminated and staged. Linear Jilly downlights for track are used above the grandstands. They offer greatest possible flexibility and high visual comfort.
Corridors are brightly illuminated by Parscan spotlights on track.
In gymnastics rooms, Skim downlights provide uniform general lighting with high visual comfort.
Customised solution with ERCO individual: Skim Surface-mounted luminaires on pendant tubes illuminate the corridors of the gymnasium.
It was challenging to find a lighting solution that would emphasise the artistic elements of the graffiti, while at the same time providing sufficient brightness for sporting activities. ERCO lighting tools offer high quality and flexibility and enabled us to create the desired atmosphere through precise light control combined with a lighting control system, while ensuring energy efficiency. Both the graffiti and the interiors were perfectly staged, according to Cedric Rahn, ap elektroanlagen planung gmbh.
