Workshop heads:
Matthias Boeser: Matthias, lighting design trainer and application specialist at ERCO, started with professional stage lighting and has been working in architectural lighting design for more than 20 years. He has been a lecturer for lighting design and lighting technology in various degree programmes for more than 15 years.
Dr. Thomas Schielke: Thomas, a trainer at ERCO for architectural lighting, has been working at ERCO for more than 20 years. His extensive contributions include an online guide, workshops, and international articles on lighting. The co-authorship of the ERCO book “Light Perspectives” reflects his expertise. He has presented lectures at various international universities.
Speakers:
Heiko Becker: Heiko has a background in energy supply and lighting technology, working with ERCO since 1985. Currently, he oversees ERCO’s sustainability program and contributes his expertise as the chair of national and international working groups for manufacturers' associations. Heiko is passionately dedicated to integrating sustainability into applications and shaping the next generation of luminaires.
Dr. Matthias Bremerich: With a physics and astrophysics background from the University of Siegen and experience at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Matthias has been a leading optics developer at ERCO since 2006. His expertise includes raytracing simulation, optics, and designing optical components for lighting. He has also led seminars and supervised internships during his doctoral studies.
Matthew Cobham: Matthew has over 20 years’ experience in Europe and in Asia working with architects and lighting designers on projects of all types. He has excelled at ERCO since 2019, focusing on innovative museum and gallery lighting. Holder of a masters from Bartlett in Light & Lighting and an MBA from EM Lyon, Matthew, delivers insightful talks that seamlessly blend expertise and inspiration.
Axel Groß: Axel Groß, an art director and AI specialist, holds a background in architecture and production design. With over 20 years of experience, he has worked with firms like ERCO, Autodesk, OMA and Pfarré Licht. His expertise spans design, art direction, and CG media production. Electric Gobo was founded in 2003 in Berlin, today Axel is based in Hanover, Germany.
Henk Kosche: Since 2004, Henk has been leading the Concept & Design group at ERCO. Starting in 1993, he progressed from a designer to the Head of Advanced Design. A product design graduate of Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle, he worked as a designer at Siemens Design in Munich. Henk also served as a guest professor at various institutions and conducted workshops at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in Japan.
Dan Weissman: Dan is an Architect, Lighting Designer, researcher, and teacher. As Associate Principal and Director of Lam Labs, Dan supports the firm’s endeavors in digital technologies, daylighting design, and academic engagement. Dan is the Chair of the IES Daylighting Committee, teaches lighting at Harvard Graduate School of Design
