Qualitative lighting design for sales spaces
For merchandise displays at the FrischeParadies subsidiary in Stuttgart, the designers from ROBERTNEUN ARCHITEKTEN drew up a nuanced lighting concept with various light distributions, light colours and mounting methods. Wallwashing, general lighting and accenting are the essential components of the lighting. A cool and a warm light colour are used for subtle differentiation between the fresh goods counter and the market hall.
Emphasising room depth via wallwashing
Wallwashing creates a generous and simultaneously bright spatial impression behind the long fish display. The recessed luminaires blend discretely into the ceiling design so that the light effect and not the luminaires determine the visual perception.
Emphasising displays with general lighting
Horizontal general lighting was installed for the fresh and appetising display of fish and seafood. An attractive brilliance is created on the food products via the point light sources of the downlights. Thanks to ceiling recessing the luminaires blend unobtrusively into the overall design.
Emphasising merchandise displays with accent lighting
Accent lighting emphasises the merchandise on the shelving and displays and the signage. Simply aligned spotlights and interchangeable light distributions enable flexible adaptations if the arrangement of display fixtures and decoration surfaces changes.
Warm light colour for warm material colours
The warm white 3000K light colour corresponds with the warm colours of the timber ceiling in the market hall. The colour lends the high hall a pleasant atmosphere and is also advantageous for foodstuffs with warm colours such as baked goods and meat.
Cool light colour for the fresh goods area
The effect of the cool white and blue colours in the area of the fish counter are emphasised by the cool, neutral white 4000K light colour. This light colour gives the merchandise display a fresh and attractive impression.
