Light for reception desks in high rooms

Light impact and luminaire arrangements

General lighting with double focus downlights

Reception desks in public buildings for example are often the place of initial contact for visitors and guests. For this reason their lighting should be both prestigious and functional. As part of a zonal, perception-compliant lighting concept, the reception desk can be emphasised in the room with an island of light consisting of horizontal general lighting. This requires luminaires with narrow light distribution that also provide good visual comfort via high glare control for guests and reception personnel. The effect of the lighting is improved if the luminaires are installed outside of the field of view: e.g. by using recessed luminaires in high rooms.
